Yellow taxi cab Southside
No idea how this iconic US 'yellow' taxi cab came to spend its last days on a S.E London backstreet, how long it’s been there or how much longer it will stay...
I unexpectedly came across it on one of my ‘OMG! I’ve gotta lose more kilos so that I can eat more Tiramisu’ marathon walks around the area.
It’s stood outside the quirkiest butchers I’ve yet to visit. Steeped in vintage, at first glance the family run business appeared to be more of an ode to vintage Victoriana. The counter, behind which stood a small well selected choice of meats, seemed almost incidental.
The car, victoriana, a warm smiley traditionally dressed butcher/cab owner, proudly & befittingly sporting the most serious of handlebar moustaches...not unlike the butchers & family run shop owners of my childhood Up North. What a find!
I have a feeling that there’s a big story behind all this somewhere... I hereby promise that I will obtain said low down and share it with you all one fine day in the not too distant future....stay tuned....
